Students will learn how authors control the order in which information is revealed and how this can alter the reader's understanding of earlier details. By examining the photograph before and after the key reveal, students explore how context, memory and perspective can change the meaning we attach to ordinary objects and images.
By the end of the week, students will be able to identify important structural choices, explain how delayed information reshapes earlier details, interpret possible symbolic meanings, and discuss how structure contributes to meaning, theme and purpose.
