Most, if not all schools now have an anti-bullying policy. Our policies will no doubt state that we will not, under any circumstances, tolerate bullying. We declare that we will stand up to bullies, but do we?
We would all like to say that our schools are ‘bully free’ but we would be deceiving ourselves. For most of us this continues to be a dream rather than a reality. We are usually aware that there is one particular child, a group or even groups of children who make life a misery for targeted individuals, or for every other child that they come into contact with. Of course their chosen methods are many and varied but all intended to cause physical and/or mental anguish for their victims.
